About the on farm challenge judge:

Stephen Mast is from Denair, California where he resides with his wife Lynnea and their 5 children; Emma, Erik, Elsie, Evelyn and Eli.  Stephen and Lynnea are partners with Stephen's parents, Cal and Lori Mast as well as his grandmother, Katie Dirkse on CALORI-D Holsteins.  They milk approximately 950 Holsteins with another 1100 youngstock and dry cows.  Around 25 percent of the herd is registered and they have had a lot of success over the years showing and breeding high quality cattle. This includes several Champions at the California State Holstein show and Western Spring National Holstein show and a couple top placing animals at the World Dairy Expo.  Stephen attended Modesto Junior College and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where he majored in Dairy Science and Ag Business.  While attending he was a member of the dairy cattle judging teams.  Since graduation from college Stephen has judged fairs and regional shows throughout the Western United States
